About ABPA and Advertising in the Southwest Signature

Founded in Phoenix in April of 1992, the Arizona Book Publishing Association’s mission is to advance and promote successful book publishing in Arizona through education, community involvement, cooperative effort, peer recognition, industry advocacy, and the support of First Amendment rights.

ABPA is a diverse organization comprising book publishers, designers, manufacturers, writers, editors, publicists, and booksellers. Placing an ad at AZBookPub.com and in the ABPA’s newsletter, Southwest Signature, gives you and your company unparalleled access to key players in the book publishing industry.

Southwest Signature is published ten times a year, sent out as an e-mail to all members, and posted at AZBookPub.com. All issues are archived and viewable by anyone who has access to the World Wide Web.

Advertising Options

We offer fixed size ads using the full size banner ad format described below.

Your ad can be image or text.

Each ad can be linked to a single website or e-mail of your choice.

Advertise in one newsletter at a time or in 10 consecutive newsletters.

Your ad remains available in the archived newsletters in which it was originally published.

Your ad will be displayed on the website for the period of time you advertise. All current ads will be displayed using a random rotation algorithm to give each advertiser equal exposure over time.

Ad Size and File Format

Graphic Ads: Create your advertising material in image format as a single graphic file of 450×60 pixels, jpg or gif. We do not accept animation.

We will optimize your file for quick download.

Text or Reader Ads: Text ads are limited to 45 words and 4 lines, with a limit of 8 words in bold. Or you can utilize more words in bold if the total number of words are reduced.

Help with Design

We do not provide design services or help with your files. However, Arizona Book Publishing Association may have members who, in their line of business, provide design services. Contact ABPA for a list of current members currently offering this service.

Submission Instructions

We only accept your advertising material electronically.

Attach your banner ad image to an e-mail as a .gif or .jpg file.

Make sure that your image file meets the pixel requirements of 450×60.

Text for a text-based ad can be included in an e-mail with clear instructions describing layout on lines and where bold text is to be used.

Let us know the number of newsletters in which you wish to advertise.

We can create a link from your ad to your website or to an e-mail for no extra charge. Provide us with the URL or e-mail address you wish to have as a link from your ad. Tracking of traffic origin to your website may be possible if you use a tracking link. Discuss this with your web master before providing us with the URL you wish to use as a link for your ad.

Deadlines

You must submit your advertising material by the 10th of the month.

The newsletter is scheduled to be distributed around the third week of each month with the exception of July and December, when the newsletter is not issued.

Newsletter distribution dates may vary. We reserve the right to change the months when the newsletter is not issued.

Your ad will also be published on the website concurrently with the newsletter’s distribution.

Disclaimer

At its sole discretion, ABPA reserves the right to refuse advertising deemed inappropriate.

Fee Schedule

This fee schedule is in effect from July 1, 2006 until changed and replaced on AZBookPub.com.

Advertising in one (1) issue: $ 57.00

Advertising in ten (10) consecutive issues: $287.00

At any time during your contract a replacement ad may be submitted for a fee of $30.00. If a one-time replacement is made in connection with a 10 issue contract extension there will be no charge.

Payment

We accept credit cards. MC/VISA.

You will receive an electronic invoice when your advertising material has been received and accepted.
