Author Event “got Braces? Tips and Tricks for Tender Treats”
Pamela Waterman and Brenda Waterman, authors of, “The Braces Cookbook: Recipes You (and Your Orthodontist) Will Love”
The Braces Cookbook includes 50 simple, comfort-food recipes perfect for tender teeth days. Thousands of teens (and adults) around the world have weathered this orthodontic rite of passage with clenched smiles and longing looks at forbidden foods, but the problem has been what to eat when your teeth really hurt! From Mellow Main Meals to Definitely Deserved Desserts,The Braces Cookbook offers a mix of luscious tastes – from Crustless Quiche to Lime-Graham Cheesecake Nibbles – to please even non-braces-wearers. The wire-bound, 96-page book also includes hints for eating out, packing lunches and creating quick meals off-the-shelf. Nationally recognized with the first Good Parenting Award from Parental Wisdom.com (Nutley, NJ) and the 2007 Best Cookbook Glyph Award from the Arizona Book Publishing Association, The Braces Cookbook offers a deliciously positive approach to life with braces.
Pamela Waterman – author, engineer, and mother of three – has been writing books and articles since 1985. She has published three books on activities for children as well as dozens of parenting, craft and small business articles, and more than 90 technical articles. Pam’s daughter and co-author, Brenda, had the idea for The Braces Cookbook as she faced her third year of eating challenges with braces. Pam, herself a veteran of braces as a teen, spent a year developing the recipes with Brenda, researching tips, resources and fun braces trivia, and testing them on any willing subjects.
Brenda Waterman is currently in ninth grade, finally got her braces off in August after six years of treatment, and still loves to try new recipes.
