Arizona Book Awards Call for Entries is Closed
The Arizona Book Publishing Association call for entries for the 2010 Arizona Book Awards has closed. Submissions must have been postmarked by January 30th, 2010. Entries are currently being judged, and Glyph Award winners will be announced at the Arizona Book Awards Banquet on May 1, 2010.
Arizona Book Awards Earn Publicity for Your Books
Authors and publishers whose books win awards or are named as finalists see a positive correlation between the award and the overall success of the book. The 2010 Arizona Book Awards, whose award is known as a Glyph Award, help to promote and support quality work created in or about Arizona and to recognize excellence in craft and creation in the Arizona book industry. Press releases of the finalists and winners will be sent to the major news media within Arizona as well as national media and will also appear on the Arizona Book Publishing Association webpage.
Last year’s winners were featured in the Arizona State University Alumni newsletter (going out to more than 40,000 individuals) and on Lesa’s Book Blog, as well as in other local, national and online media.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Arizona Book Awards, the work must be written by an Arizona author, published by an Arizona publisher, or set in Arizona. Current Arizona residents are eligible, as are individuals engaged in ongoing literary work in the state and authors whose literary work reflects a strong sense of Arizona. The author or publisher making the submission is not required to be an ABPA member. Entries in the Design Categories must have been designed by an Arizona designer.
Entries in the Arizona Book Awards must have a 2009 publication date (between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009).
Please note that by entering the Arizona Book Awards, you warrant that your books are eligible, as stated above. If the judges deem that is not the case, entry fees are forfeit and will not be refunded.
Deadlines and Fees
The deadline was January 30, 2010. Complete the 2010 Arizona Book Award entry form. Mail the form with the entry fee ($60 for ABPA members and $75 for nonmembers), 2 copies of each book, and a CD with your cover files to the ABPA address provided on the form.
